Rest confidently
In the care of your Shepherd
His sheep know His voice.

"He maketh me to lie down in green pastures"
The strange thing about sheep is that because of their very make-up it is almost impossible for them to be made to lie down unless four requirements are met.... It is significant that to be at rest there must be a definite sense of freedom from fear, tension, aggravations and hunger. The unique aspect of the picture is that it is only the sheepman himself who can provide release from these anxieties. ...A flock that is restless, discontented, always agitated and disturbed never does well. And the same is true of people.    -
From A Shepherd Looks at Psalm 23, by Phillip Keller
Jesus is the Great Shepherd. We are His sheep. We can rest confidently in His care.

He is love. Perfect love casts out fear. (1 John 4:18)
He commands us to forgive those who hurt or offend us, so we can be free from tension with others.(Mark 11:25)
His Spirit is in me and on me, keeping aggravating pests from "bugging me". (Philippians 4:6-7)
He is our source and we never go hungry. His provision is based on heaven's supply, not the world's economy. (Matthew 6:26)
