God has forgotten
your transgressions are wiped out
fresh start from the Lord
Isaiah 43:25

God isn't holding your past against you. Everyone who's accepted Christ should know they are a new creature, and the person they used to be is no more. When you became a Christian your biological father lost a child. That man's child died! Now your father, your family and your citizenship are in heaven! That's something to celebrate.

Something we may not hear often enough though, is that EVERY sin is covered by the blood. How many of us have messed up since we became Christians? Be real! Everyone has missed it. That's why God gave us 1 John 1:9. If you were born again as a young child you may not have committed what the world considers big sins, but have you had a moment of pride or unforgiveness? The good news is that the blood of Christ covers those mistakes too. God's mercies are new every morning!

When you mess up, run to your heavenly Father. He's the only one who will make you feel better. He'll fix the “ouch” caused by your sin. Hiding from Him doesn't make the problem go away. It just makes you look foolish. Adam and Eve thought they could hide behind a bush from the omnipresent Creator. We laugh, but that's how foolish we look when we try to hide our mistakes from God.

Stop excusing your worldly habits. Let God kill those weeds. Forget how to cuss. Forget how to speak evil about your coworkers or family members. Forget how to look at filth. Forget how to think the worst of others. Forget how to tell white lies. Get a fresh start from God. Ask Him to forgive you and to establish you in righteous living. He will empower you to live a better way.

Recalibrate: Ephesians 2:1-10, 2 Thessalonians 2:16-17
