The
word. God sent it.
To
any who will receive
His
word brings healing.
-Psalm
107:20, Acts 10:34-38
Consider
this scenario:
A
man is on the loose. Borders are not an issue for him. He has
seemingly unlimited resources and is going from country to country
spreading a lethal virus. After an intense international manhunt, he
is finally captured. When questioned as to his motives for causing so
much destruction and death he answers: "I only infected those
who deserved it. It was for their own good. "
Would
you say that was a good man or a crazy man? Spreading death and
disease is not good. It's bad. If a human being does this we punish
them accordingly. Yet we attribute this crazy man's attitude to God.
"Well,
this sickness is for my own good. God is trying to teach me
something." No. The only thing you are supposed to learn from
sickness is how to resist it and be healed and whole as
God intends you
to be.
Jesus
is our example of God's will in action. When He was here Jesus
"...went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by
God, because God chose to show certain people a special measure of
grace."
Is
that what Acts 10:38 says? No. But religion has taught us to believe
that sometimes God heals people, and sometimes He makes them sick.
What
Acts 10:38 actually says is:
"Jesus
of Nazareth...went about doing
good and healing all
who were oppressed by the
devil, for
God was with Him.”
God
can't put sickness on anyone, because He doesn't have any sickness to
give. The word is clear on who is the oppressor - the devil.
Do
you think God called up the devil and said, "Can I borrow some
sickness? I need to teach one of my kids a lesson."
Do
you think God is in cahoots with the enemy, even on a limited basis,
in order to "discipline" His children?
A
friend recently told us of a true story of couple he knew. The wife
is medically diagnosed as mentally unstable. Their young boy took a
quarter from his mom's purse to buy some thing kids like – candy or
a toy. When she discovered what had happened she turned on the burner
of their electric stove and grabbed her son's hand. The husband had
to physically restrain her from putting her child's hand on the
burner! Thank God, the boy was not hurt.
Which
parent in that scenario is a closer representation of God? Does God
put our hand on the burner to teach us not to do wrong? Never! Only a
mind rotted with religious thinking could think such things of God.
Especially
if you need healing , renew your mind on the nature of God. Blow away
all the rotten, religious thoughts and discover the truth of the
Word. God is a healer. His will is for you to be healed.
