Knowing who I am
Growing confident in Christ
Trusting my Papa
You can tell for sure that you are now fully adopted as his (God's) own children because God sent the Spirit of his Son into our lives crying out, "Papa! Father!" Doesn't that privilege of intimate conversation with God make it plain that you are not a slave, but a child? And if you are a child, you're also an heir, with complete access to the inheritance.Knowing who I am in Christ is so vital! We are not beggars, wishing we could just get a scrap of bread to survive on. We are heirs! We have an inheritance that is unfathomable! (Ephesians 3:8) God delights in the prosperity of His servant. (Psalm 35:27) How much more does He delight in the prosperity of his children.
Yes, I'm saying God wants you to prosper. He wants you fully funded and abundantly supplied in EVERY area of your life. David said, "my cup runneth over..." He didn't say, "my cup get's filled to ALMOST the top, because you know what they say...waste not want not." No. That's human thinking. That's the "earn and deserve" mentality we've inherited from our DNA. It's been ingrained in us that if we're good enough, or smart enough, or pretty enough to stand out in a crowd, then we've become more valuable and more deserving of the good things we desire. Phooey!
1. Hebrews 4:8-16 - God sees our inner person. His primary interest is your heart's motivation.
2. Matthew 6 - when you seek God first, He adds all the things the world is eagerly seeking after to you.
3. 1 Timothy 6:17 - God gives things to us so we will enjoy them. Just don't put your hope or confidence in things, but keep your hope anchored in God.
Praise God! I'm so glad to be growing in my understanding of my Papa!
