"Your task as a communicator is not to impress people, but to impact them; not just to convince them, but to change them."
-Dr. Howard Hendricks
Lord,
"Write," You say.
"About what?" I ask. "I've barely cracked open the Word this morning."
"What's in your heart."
This morning I wonder how well I'm accomplishing my task as explained by Dr. Hendricks. Are people impacted by my communication? Are the changed? Are the moved to action that impacts those around them for Christ? Are the ripples of my life increasing and multiplying or bouncing off the shore, fading for lack of reinforcement?
Today God sent reinforcements! He knows what we need when we need it. During our weekly prayer and praise time at school God used my husband to encourage me, and he doesn't even know it yet. As we praised God and sang to Him, I felt a nudge to go to the front of the church to worship Him there. Though we were seated on the aisle, I had to ease by my husband to get to the front. Within a few seconds of me being down there, Dave joined me.
He said quietly, "I wasn't planning to come down here, but something happened when you moved past me and I knew I needed to come down here beside you."
Praise God! My obedient action, small as it was, moved someone else to action. Yeah.
Pressin' in with renewed strength! Isaiah 40:28-31
