I love my Papa.
Where does the adventure lead?
He knows. I trust Him.

Romans 8:14-17 from the Message:
This resurrection life you received from God is not a timid, grave-tending life. It's adventurously expectant, greeting God with a childlike "What's next, Papa?" God's Spirit touches our spirits and confirms who we really are: Father and children. And we know we are going to get what's coming to us - an inheritance! We go through exactly what Christ goes through. If we go through the hard times with him, then we're certainly going to go through the good times with him!

The Message is not a study Bible, but I love the way it shakes you out of religious "speed-reading". Who wouldn't want to live an "adventurously expectant life" with a Papa that loves you and safely guides you through the adventure. Add to that adventure the fact that your Papa has unlimited resources and you are living on your inheritance. Praise God!

I am an heiress, living on my inheritance. I have a loving Papa who guides and provides for the adventure he has planned far in advance for me to live. I have people to bring with me - new siblings, lost and in the dark, waiting to be found. They are my assignment. I have current siblings - lied to and living as less than Papa intends for them to be. They are also my assignment.

What an adventure. Let's go!

Who's will was done at the cross?

Matthew 26:39, 42, 53 – Jesus prayed twice to the Father that the cup of the crucifixion would pass from him. We sometimes see his final statement, “Thy will not my will be done,” as Jesus kicking the dirt like a little kid, head down, saying, “Okay. Since I HAVE to...I'll do it.” But verse 53 shows that not to be the case. At the moment of his arrest and at any moment before or after that during his questioning and crucifixion, Jesus could have called more than twelve legions of angels to his rescue and the Father would have sent them. Jesus willingly gave his life for us. It was not human trickery or divine coercion. It was love. That is his nature because he and the Father are one, and the Father is love.
