What is love?

If I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but do not have love, I have become a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy, and know all mysteries and all knowledge; and if I have all faith so as to move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. And if I give all my possessions to feed the poor, and if I surrender my body to be burned, but do not have love, it profits me nothing.

Love is patient...with imperfect people
Love is kind...active in doing good
Love is not jealous...but delights in others promotion
Love does not brag...is not ostentatious, but self-effacing
and is not arrogant...or puffed up
Love does not act unbecomingly...is not rude, but courteous
Love does not seek its own...insisting on its own rights or its own way
Love is not provoked...touchy, fretful or resentful, but displays grace under pressure
Love does not take into account a wrong suffered...no keeping records of wrongs done to it
Love does not rejoice in unrighteousness...spreading an evil report
but rejoices with the truth...aggressively advertising the good
Love bears all things...defending others and holding them up
Love believes all things...crediting others with good intentions and is not suspicious
Love hopes all things...affirming others future
Love endures all things...never giving up on people,
Love never fails...it perseveres and remains loyal to the end.
-1 Corinthians 13:1-8
