Öffne meine Augen, damit ich Wunder schaue in deinem Gesetz! -Ps.119,18 (GEB)
Open my eyes, that I may behold wondrous things from your law! -Ps. 119:18 (ESV)
Good in any language! God desires for us to know and understand His word. That's why He gave it to us. However, we can't approach it like it's a dry textbook or an outdated document. The word of God is alive and active. It's a supernatural book, and the Holy Spirit is our teacher. He reveals God's word to us every time we crack it open and ask Him to do so. Some days it's a great eye-opening revelation. Other days it's a gentle reminder of things we already know. Enjoy both!
I have houseplants. Most days they look about the same. If I neglect watering them, they seem okay for a bit. But eventually they turn pale and instead of springing from the soil, the leaves droop. A little water is all they need. Other times, when I'm diligent to water them regularly they send out flower blossoms! All it takes is regular watering and a little patience.
If you feel like your leaves are drooping, water yourself with the word. Make it a daily habit. Ask the Holy Spirit to open your eyes and teach you the word. Be patient with it. Invest in your own spiritual growth. Daily water from the word WILL produce growth in your life. The difference may be subtle, but people will notice less droop and more spring about you. Keep at it and before you know it you'll be blossoming with God's goodness for all to see!
